Elbow

People suffering from tennis or golfer’s elbow often have a difficult time opening a door or shaking someone’s hand. Common approaches to treating tennis elbow include destructive steroid injections or invasive elbow surgery that has been shown to be no better than sham surgery for treating symptoms.

During this outpatient procedure, we use precise image guidance to inject custom concentrations of your body’s natural healing cells into the exact areas of damage in your elbow to repair damaged tissues and to improve function and mobility.

Best of all, your downtime will be a fraction of surgery, with little to no need for opioid pain medications or time off of work

Knee

Knee osteoarthritis is one of the most prevalent chronic disabilities in the United States that causes pain and a reduction in range of motion and possible activity until even walking becomes difficult. Common treatment options include harmful steroid injections and risky surgeries that don’t restore patients to full function, while the joint continues to deteriorate over time. As knee osteoarthritis progresses, total knee replacement is the most common treatment.

TMJ

The use of Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) may provide a new and improved treatment option for early Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis. A recent study at the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery General University Hospital, Prague compared 30 early onsets OA patients divided equally into 3 groups. Pain intensity was recorded for each patient using a 0-10  scale. Maximum Interincisal Opening (Mouth opening) was also recorded. This assessment was performed at the pretreatment and then at an examination 3 months after administration of 2 intra-articular applications of autologous PRP, 2 intra-articular injections of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) , or commencement of conservative therapy only with soft diet and analgetics.  The results after 3 months revealed that intra-articular injection of autologous PRP appeared to be an effective treatment method for patients with early OA . At the 3-month follow-up, patients improved their mouth opening significantly. Majority of the PRP patients showed decreased pain. The average pain score before PRP administration was 7, while 3 months after PRP administration the pain score was 3.5. In conclusion, the use of PRP is an effective treatment option for early TMJ OA.
